We are updating our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and we want to explain to you the why, what, and when. Please take a few minutes to read this email as it contains information on changes that may be important to you.
What is changing and when?
We've made significant changes to both our Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. These changes will come into effect on May 25, 2018. While there are still two weeks to go we recommend that you take time today to read through our updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy documents as they contain many significant changes.
Why are we updating our terms?
On May 25th the GDPR, General Data Protection Regulation, an EU legal act created to enhance your privacy rights, comes into effect. All of our customers will benefit from this new regulation as our new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy will be the same for everyone, regardless of location or residency.
Key changes
Improved clarity and transparency. We've split our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy into two separate documents to make them easier to read. We removed a lot of unnecessary text and made the terms better reflect the services we provide. Our Privacy Policy is, essentially, completely re-written and contains detailed information on how we take care of your personal data.
Trading, advertising, and disputes. Our Terms of Service now includes comprehensive information on trading, advertisements, and the trade dispute process.
Collection, storage, and processing of personal data. Our Privacy Policy has been rewritten, we explain what personal data we gather, how and why we process it, who we share it with, account deletion, and our data retention policy.
You must be 16 or older. The new terms require you to be at least 16 years old to use our services.
We ask for your consent. From the 25th of May onwards, we will ask for your explicit consent to our updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
We've written a companion page that goes with this email to explain the changes in more detail.
On the 25 of May 2018 the new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy will come into effect and from that day we will ask for your acceptance of the new terms.
